Position: Developer & Web Administrator

Background:

Matthew graduated highschool in 2000 with a weighted TER of 95. Accepting his first preference offer of a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) and Bachelor of Business Administration double degree at Curtin University, he graduated after 4 years with a weighted average of 72.70.

He commenced work experience at the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission in April 2005 working on a Government wide IT Portal prototype. After completion, his work experience was extended to research and implement a bug/issue tracking system for the IT department.

Matthew was then offered a short-term contract to assist the lead developer creating the Online Lodgement system for WAIRC - predominantly focussing on PDF fields. Upon receiving a longer term contract from WAIRC, Matthew then began learning Coldfusion to assist development of the Online Lodgement system. The project was later inherited and extended when the lead developer left for a permanent placement elsewhere.

During numerous contract extensions and eventually gaining permanency with WAIRC, Matthew worked on several major projects - initially completing the half-finished Electronic Gazette project (Emerald) working both on the GUI document ordering processes and Word document (wml) manipulation.

He created the organisation's Intranet using DotNetNuke and went on to work on the DotNetNuke driven TWU site externally with another developer. Among other projects Matthew became the lead Reporting Services developer, also creating the Windows Forms report viewer and security system - eventually replacing the department's Crystal based reporting system.

The current WAIRC website was created from scratch by Matthew using ASP.NET 2.0. After investigating a number of content management systems it was determined that a custom solution would be the best option, both the site and administration pages being completed in less than 4 months.

Outside interests include playing basketball, guitar, watching countless amounts of AFL every weekend and writing about himself in the third person.
