The Commission has issued an order to prevent the suburban train drivers employed by the Public Transport Authority from undertaking a stop work meeting on Friday 28 August 2009 at 2pm. The stop work meeting was to have been conducted by the train drivers to discuss concerns regarding a memorandum distributed by the employer which they say made unilateral changes to the rostering arrangement. However, the PTA disputes that the changes are significant and said that the stop work meeting would cause significant disruption to the general public at around the time school students were due to go home, into the peak hour and have consequences for sporting events. The order requires the Union and the PTA to report back to the Commission next week.
Order can be found here.
