If you are seeking information on industrial relations policy and research issues such as enterprise bargaining or workplace agreements, or copies of decisions and legislation we suggest the following sources of information:

An Industrial Agreement Checklist is provided as an aid to those parties who are developing or intending to lodge an Industrial Agreement in accordance with the Industrial Relations Act 1979.

The Department does not produce any brochures but can provide copies of DOCEP publications, applications and conciliation notes for unfair dismissal inquiries.

The Department is not able to provide advice or conduct research for students or the public. The WAIRC Library is open to the public.

Conditions of Use

If you wish to use the library facilities the following conditions apply.

  • The library is only available to the public when library staff are in attendance.  To help us provide an efficient service, please ring or us to make an appointment.
     
  • Books and other library resources are not available for loan to the public.
     
  • The library staff are unable to provide you with an interpretation of legislation nor are they qualified to offer legal advice.
     
  • Library users must carry out their own research.
     
  • A charge of 22 cents per page (GST inclusive) is payable on all photocopying or printing.
     

Collection

Our collection includes information on all aspects of industrial law and industrial relations, including unfair dismissal, in the form of books, journals, law reports and loose leaf services.  We also hold a complete set of the Western Australian Industrial Gazette.

In addition, there is public access to the Internet and automated databases of state and federal decisions and legislation.

Photocopying facilities are available at a cost of 22c (GST inclusive) per page.
 

Western Australian Industrial Gazette (WAIG)

All Decisions and Orders of the Commission are published in the WAIG. If you have any inquiries about the Western Australian Industrial Gazette, contact or us.

The Western Australian Industrial Gazette is available free of charge electronically from 1996 - present time.
