New Practice Notes Issued by the Commission
The Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission advises that three new Practice Notes were published in the Western Australian Industrial Gazette (2026) 106 WAIG 690-693 on 22 April 2026.
The new Practice Notes are:
- Practice Note 1 of 2026 – Use of artificial intelligence
- Practice Note 2 of 2026 – Delivery of reserved decisions (Practice Note 2 of 2026 replaces existing Practice Note 1 of 2021)
- Practice Note 3 of 2026 – Appeal Books
In accordance with s 113(1) of the Industrial Relations Act 1979 and regulation 39(3) of the Industrial Relations Commission Regulations 2005, each Practice Note will take effect 14 days after publication, being 6 May 2026.
The Commission encourages practitioners, parties and interested stakeholders to familiarise themselves with the updated guidance.

Notice to vary the Clerks (Commercial, Social and Professional Services) Award No. 14 of 1972 of Commission’s Own Motion Pursuant to Section 40B
NOTICE is given of an application on the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission's own motion to review the Clerks (Commercial, Social and Professional Services) Award No. 14 of 1972 with a view to vary the Award in accordance with section 40B of the Industrial Relations Act 1979 (WA).
Notice to vary the Clerks (Commercial, Social and Professional Services) Award No. 14 of 1972 of Commission’s Own Motion Pursuant to Section 37D
NOTICE is given of an application on the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission's own motion to review the scope of the Clerks (Commercial, Social and Professional Services) Award No. 14 of 1972 with a view to vary the Award in accordance with section 37D of the Industrial Relations Act 1979 (WA).
