HAVING heard Mr M Sims on behalf of the applicant and Mr A Harper and with him Ms N Pyne on behalf of the respondents and by consent the Commission, pursuant to the powers conferred on it under the Industrial Relations Act, 1979 hereby orders –
THAT the Parliamentary Employees Award 1989 be varied in accordance with the following schedule and that such variation shall have effect from the beginning of first pay period on or after 8 August 2012.

SCHEDULE
1. CLAUSE 9. – MEAL ALLOWANCE: DELETE SUBCLAUSE (1) OF THIS CLAUSE AND INSERT THE FOLLOWING IN LIEU THEREOF:
(1) An employee who is required to work overtime under Clause 7 of this Award and where such overtime extends beyond 5.00 p.m., a meal allowance shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Public Service Overtime Award No. 10 of 1978 Clause 8 as amended. Provided that where such overtime extends beyond 6.00 a.m. the following day, an allowance of $15.20 or the amount charged by the House, whichever is the higher, for such a three course meal shall be paid.
