Supplementary Reasons for Decision

THE COMMISSION IN COURT SESSION:
1 The Commission in Court Session published its reasons for decision in the 2024 State Wage Case on 12 June 2024: [2024] WAIRC 00293. A minor compounding issue has been raised by the Minister in the calculation of the increase in the State Minimum Wage, reflecting the realignment of the C14 to the C13 classification rate of a 2.3% increase and the general 4% increase. Whilst the SMW was increased by 6.3% in the minute of proposed General Order, it should be increased by 2.3% as a first step, to align the C14 to the C13 classification rate. As a second step, that figure should then be increased by 4%. This reflects the intention of the Commission’s decision. This will increase the SMW to $918.60 per week. The other section 50 parties agree with this course.
2 A revised minute of proposed General Order, giving effect to our decision, now issues.
